MOLYKOTE D-321 R Anti-Friction Coating Spray is an air-curing dry-film lubricant for metal-on-metal applications under slow to medium-fast movements and high loads. MOLYKOTE D-321 R Anti-Friction Coating is an air-curing dry-film lubricant available in bulk liquid or convenient aerosol spray form. It's engineered for metal-to-metal contact situations experiencing a range of movement speeds (slow to medium-fast) and significant loads. Application methods vary depending on the chosen format: the bulk liquid requires thorough stirring before brushing or spraying, while the aerosol spray can requires shaking before use. For both, a clean, degreased surface is crucial for optimal adhesion. Pre-treatments like phosphatization or sandblasting (180 grit) further improve adhesion and product longevity.
The coating dries quickly, reaching a touch-dry state within 5 minutes at 23 C (room temperature), or just 1 minute with 80 C hot air. Full curing is achieved after 2 hours at 23 C. The recommended dry-film thickness is 5 to 20 m for effective lubrication and wear protection. The resulting dry film exhibits excellent anti-stick-slip properties and high resistance to aging.
