MOLYKOTE 5 Compound
MOLYKOTE 5 Compound is a silicone-based, non-conductive grease providing excellent lubrication and compatibility with various materials across a wide temperature range. MOLYKOTE 5 Compound is a grease-like material composed of an inert amorphous silica filler and selected dimethyl and phenylmethyl silicone fluids. This unique formulation ensures compatibility with rubber, metal, and plastic components, making it suitable for a broad range of applications. Its non-conductive properties are particularly advantageous in electrical applications, while its smooth, grease-like consistency allows for easy application using various methods, including manual application (hand, brush, wipe) and automated dispensing equipment.
The compound exhibits remarkable stability across a wide temperature range, maintaining its consistency from -54 C (-65 F) to 232 C (450 F), significantly exceeding the performance of many other silicone-based compounds. Application methods can be adapted for different viscosities; thinner consistency can be achieved by dispersing the compound in low-viscosity polydimethyl siloxane fluid or other solvents. Appropriate cleaning methods, including the use of low-viscosity polydimethyl siloxane fluid, solvents, or detergent, are recommended. The compound also offers resistance to oxidation and moisture.
