MOLYKOTE 316 Silicone Release Fluid is a versatile, heat-stable silicone anti-stick spray for preventing adhesion problems in various industries. MOLYKOTE 316 Silicone Release Fluid is a silicone-based anti-stick spray designed to prevent sticking and adhesion issues across a wide range of applications. Its heat stability makes it suitable for high-temperature environments, such as those found in food and beverage processing, high-speed printing (rotary letterpress), and the bindery industry. The product forms a thin, protective silicone film that facilitates easy release of materials from treated surfaces.
Application is straightforward: simply spray a thin, even coat onto clean surfaces, allowing approximately three minutes drying time. For metal surfaces, a hand buffer can be used for application. Newly cleaned heat-sealing units require a break-in period at full operating temperature after application. The resulting silicone film exhibits high resistance to oxidation-induced breakdown, preventing the formation of carbonaceous residues or gummy surfaces. It maintains low volatility at temperatures up to 199 C (390 F). Note that this product should not be used on surfaces intended for subsequent painting, as it may impede paint adhesion.
