MOLYKOTE D-708 Anti-Friction Coating
MOLYKOTE D-708 Anti-Friction Coating is a dispersion of solid lubricants within an organic resin-solvent system designed for lubricating and protecting metal and plastic parts under low to medium load conditions. It provides both lubrication and corrosion resistance, contributing to a high-quality surface finish on the treated components. The coating is applied to clean, degreased surfaces via spray or dip coating methods, requiring a stirred application and aiming for a final film thickness between 5-15 microns. Viscosity can be adjusted using methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) solvent.
The cured coating functions effectively across a wide temperature range, from -60 C to 240 C. Its robust corrosion protection is validated by salt spray tests exceeding 700 hours with an 11-micron coating on zinc phosphate. Beyond corrosion resistance, the coating also exhibits a low coefficient of friction and a glossy black finish. MOLYKOTE D-708 is packaged in 18-liter pails.
