MOLYKOTE 5 Compound is a grease-like material composed of an inert amorphous silica filler and selected dimethyl and phenylmethyl silicone fluids. This non-conductive compound is designed for applications demanding compatibility with rubber, metal, and plastic components. Its unique formulation allows for easy application using various methods, including manual application (hand, wipe, brush) and automated equipment dispensing. The compound maintains a consistent room-temperature viscosity across a broad temperature range, from -54 C to 232 C (-65 F to 450 F), exceeding the performance of many other silicone compounds.
Application methods are flexible and include hand application, brushing, wiping, or automated equipment. For thinner consistency, the compound can be dispersed in low-viscosity polydimethyl siloxane fluid or other solvents and applied via brushing, dipping, or spraying (ensure adequate ventilation). Cleaning is facilitated using low-viscosity polydimethyl siloxane fluid, solvents, or detergent. The compound also offers inherent resistance to oxidation and moisture.
