MOLYKOTE 106 Anti-Friction Coating Heat-curing dry film lubricant for metal-on-metal applications requiring long-lasting, high load-carrying capacity and low friction. MOLYKOTE 106 is a heat-curable dry film lubricant specifically engineered for metal-to-metal contact situations. It provides exceptional long-term lubrication under high stress, low speed, or oscillating conditions where traditional oil or grease lubrication is impractical due to potential contamination. This coating is designed for maintenance-free operation, offering a high load-carrying capacity and a low coefficient of friction.
Application involves initial surface cleaning and degreasing, with optional phosphating or sandblasting (180 grit) for improved adhesion and longevity. The coating is applied using methods such as spraying, dipping, centrifuging, or brushing to achieve a dry film thickness between 5 and 20 m. Curing is achieved by heating the coated object to 150 C for 60 minutes or 180 C for 30 minutes. The cured coating exhibits a service temperature range from -70 C to 250 C and can be thinned using MOLYKOTE L 13 Thinner.
