MOLYKOTE Microsize Powder
MOLYKOTE Microsize Powder is a high-performance solid lubricant in powder form, primarily used as an additive to enhance the lubricating properties of various materials and compounds. It significantly reduces friction and wear in demanding applications, offering superior performance across a broad temperature spectrum. Its formulation provides exceptional resistance to oxidation and extreme pressures, making it suitable for challenging operating conditions.
The powder comprises molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as its primary solid lubricant, providing a low coefficient of friction and high load-carrying capability. This black powder is effective from -185 C to 450 C, ensuring consistent performance in both low and high-temperature environments. It is formulated without intentional polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). Its fine particle size allows for uniform dispersion in various matrices.
It can be applied as a dry burnished film for metallic contacts, as a solid lubricant additive for self-lubricating plastics and sinter metal parts, or as a solid lubricant additive in metalworking compounds. It's also useful as a run-in aid for press-fittings and in heavy-load, slow-speed applications, even in dusty atmospheres. To maximize performance, ensure uniform distribution during application.
