Aerosafe – Non-flammable aerosol insecticide for aircraft cabin treatment.

Aerosafe Aircraft Insecticide is a non-flammable aerosol designed for pre-departure and on-arrival treatment of aircraft cabins to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases such as Dengue Fever, Yellow Fever, Malaria, Chikungunya, and Zika, and to mitigate agricultural pest risks. The insecticide effectively eliminates mosquitoes and other flying and crawling insects, adhering to national Quarantine regulations. Its formulation includes a non-flammable propellant and 2% w/w d-phenothrin, as recommended by the World Health Organization.

Application involves spraying the insecticide throughout the cabin after passenger boarding (pre-departure) or upon arrival (on-arrival). Before spraying, overhead and sidewall lockers should be opened, and the air-conditioning system should be switched off or set to normal flow with recirculation fans activated. Spraying proceeds from the rear to the front of the aircraft, avoiding direct contact with passengers and targeting the ceiling and open lockers. Post-spraying, the air-conditioning remains off or on recirculation for 5 minutes.

The purpose of Callington Aerosafe (and aircraft disinsection procedures in general) is to help prevent the spread of mosquito borne diseases, such as Dengue Fever, Yellow Fever, Malaria, Chikungunya and Zika. It is also used to reduce the risk to agricultural industries and the environment against exotic pests.

Aircraft approved Callington Aerosafe effectively kills mosquitoes and other flying and crawling insects. It is to be carried out inside the cabin for 'Pre-departure' or 'On-arrival' spraying methods in accordance with respective national Quarantine regulations.
