Application Guidelines:
Surface Preparation: Ensure that surfaces are clean and free from contaminants. Mild abrasion followed by solvent cleaning with naphtha, mineral spirits, or methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) is recommended. A final wipe with acetone or isopropyl alcohol (IPA) may further enhance cleanliness.
Primer Application: Apply a very light, even coat of the primer by wiping, dipping, or spraying. Avoid overapplication, which can appear as a white, chalky surface. If dipping or spraying, diluting the primer with additional solvent by a factor of 2 to 4 can help prevent excessive buildup. Allow the primer to air dry for 1 to 2 hours at room temperature (20–25°C) and 20–90% relative humidity. Lower humidity or temperature may require longer drying times.
Curing: The primer cures upon exposure to atmospheric moisture. After the recommended drying time, apply the silicone elastomer or sealant. Optimal adhesion is achieved when the primer is fully cured before applying the silicone material.
Safety Considerations:
Flammability: Highly flammable liquid and vapor. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and hot surfaces. No smoking.
Health Hazards: May cause skin irritation, serious eye damage, and drowsiness or dizziness. Avoid breathing vapors and ensure adequate ventilation during application. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves and eye protection.
Storage: Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed and cool. Protect from moisture. Containers should be kept tightly closed, and headspace minimized. Partially filled containers should be purged with dry air or nitrogen to maximize shelf life.etals, ceramics, and masonry.
