Momentive SnapSil RTV102 is a one-component, ready-to-use adhesive sealant that cures at room temperature into a tough, durable, and resilient silicone rubber upon exposure to atmospheric moisture. Its self-adhesive properties enable strong bonding to various surfaces after simple surface cleaning and drying. During the curing process, acetic acid vapors are released; therefore, adequate ventilation should be ensured. The cure time is dependent on ambient humidity and temperature.
This versatile sealant offers excellent performance across a wide temperature range, withstanding continuous temperatures up to 204 C (400 F) and intermittent temperatures up to 260 C (500 F). It also demonstrates superior resistance to weathering, ozone, and various chemicals, in addition to providing excellent electrical insulation. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of 28 kg/cm (400 lb/in ), 450% elongation, and a hardness of 30 Shore A. The white paste formulation facilitates easy application for diverse sealing and bonding tasks.
