3M Construction Sheathing Tape 8088 is an excellent (printed) sheathing tape designed for use as a closure system and vapor seal on all interior and exterior sheathing materials. It performs exceptionally well in cold temperature applications. CCMC approved 11362R.Industrial Grade Protection 3M Construction Sheathing Tape 8088 is a 3 mil printed polypropylene sheathing tape coated with an aggressive acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) designed for use as a closure system and vapor seal on all interior and exterior sheathing materials. This includes sheathing, weather resistant barriers and moisture barriers. This tape is formed from a polypropylene film backing which is coated with a 3M industrial grade pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive. The backing is conformable to irregular surfaces and contours to help ensure a tight seal and will remain flexible even at cold temperatures. This tape is UV stabilized and resistant to help protect against degradation by sunlight. A low moisture vapor transmission rate does not compromise performance of vapor barriers. The tape unwinds easily by hand, or with a 3M hand-held applicator. 3M Construction Seaming Tape 8088 is designed for a variety of applications in the construction industry, including seaming, splicing and repairing. Taping seams aids in reducing air infiltration, improves the effectiveness of insulation and reduces heating and cooling costs. Recommended Applications • Seal seams on housewrap and insulated sheathing products • Closure system and vapor seal on interior and exterior sheathing materials • Repair holes and tears in exterior building wraps • Seaming extruded foam products Performs Even in Cold Temperatures 3M Construction Sheathing Tape 8088 features a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive that performs well even in cold temperatures. This adhesive adheres immediately on contact to a variety of materials such as housewrap, insulated sheathing, vapor barrier film and unfinished wood. It performs at temperatures as low as -40°F. If this tape is applied at cold temperatures, adhesion will increase as temperature warms or with the suns rays. Once bonded this tape will provide good holding power for extended periods with good aging and UV resistance. It will resist lifting and curling.
