3M Torch Flame Resistant Barrier SE Series is a flexible, flame-resistant barrier sheet for electric vehicle battery applications. The product is made of inorganic insulating paper with mechanical reinforcement layers on one or both sides. It features high temperature and flame resistance and can be applied within the EV battery pack as a vent path barrier.Intended for electric vehicle applications, 3M Torch Flame Resistant Barrier SE Series can help provide under battery pack lid, cell vent path, and certain other battery component protection in the event of cell venting or thermal runaway scenarios. 3M offers two tiers of 3M Torch Flame Resistant Barrier (TFRB) depending on customer design requirements. TFRB-SE1 is an assymmetrical product utilizing a single-sided reinforcing layer for a more cost effective solution. TFRB-SE3 adds a second layer of mechanical reinforcement to create a symmetrical product with additional barrier strength for more demanding applications.
