Various wheel shape and sizes are available for cut-off, gashing, primary and secondary relief and end work

3M Diamond Resin Wheel 662BK is used in the production and sharpening of carbide cutting tools. This general purpose wheel is designed to give you the best form retention with a low concentration of abrasive grains to provide a careful and precise cut when used with water based lubricants.

Designed for Precision
Our resin bonded diamond wheels are designed for high performance grinding on carbide. The 3M Diamond Resin Wheel 662BK line is specifically designed for the production and sharpening of cutting tools, including end work, gashing and cutting primary and secondary relief edges. Primary relief involves removing material directly behind the cutting edge to enhance chip clearance. For secondary relief, a slight bevel is ground next to the primary relief. End work grinds a small relief angle on the tip of the tool, while gashing adds a slot along the cutting face to allow for chip flow. Each of these processes require the highest level of quality that our 3M Diamond Resin Wheel 662BK provides.

High Quality Bonding
These superabrasive wheels also use a resin bonding which are specially designed to resist thermal and chemical deterioration, which can occur during high speed grinding. The form holding R rated bond is ideal for applications where maintaining geometry is critical These wheels are designed for use with water based lubricants.

The Right Wheels for the Job
3M provides a broad portfolio of superabrasive wheels used for your round tool relief and clearance angle applications. They feature a variety of metal cores, including aluminum, steel, composite and copper, and can be cut with custom arbor holes to fit customer specifications. From short runs and re-sharpening to “lights-out” and long production runs, 3M has the wheel design to meet your needs.
