Made for Sanding and Finishing
We designed our 3M Hookit Microfinishing Film Disc 468L with a hook and loop attachment system for sanding and finishing. It is intended to speed up disc swapping during multi-step sequences, thereby increasing productivity and throughput.

3M Hookit Attachment
3M offers a complete line of hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust or dirt. Hookit sanding discs conveniently attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. The backup pad typically attaches to a tool like a random orbital sander (also sold separately).

Silicon Carbide and Polyester Backing
We engineer 3M Hookit Microfinishing Film Disc 468L using micron-graded silicon carbide, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut and smooth finish. Silicon carbide is a mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications, such as sanding and finishing during paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, this mineral produces a brighter finish and offers greater tear-resistance than comparable paper products, making it ideal for high-production environments.
