Dow Corning 1205 Prime Coat is used to promote adhesion of certain one-part silicone sealants. On July 1, 2010, Dow Corning ceased production of this product. A replacement has been reformulated with a higher flash point, however, no letter of interchangeability has been issued. Users should conduct their own testing to ensure that any replacement performs in an acceptable manner, or where Dow Corning 1205 was called for in a Service Bulletin or FAA Approved repair process, the user should check with that organization to see what they recommend as a replacement
